One of the things we love most about staying in Sandestin is how much there is to do without ever feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The resort has this really nice balance where you can fill your days with activities or simply relax and enjoy the beach.
If you’re planning your first trip to Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, here are some of our favorite things to do that guests consistently tell us they loved.
1. Walk the Beach at Sunrise
Early mornings on the Emerald Coast are special. The beaches are quiet, the water is calm, and the sand has that soft white glow that makes this area so famous.
It’s the perfect way to start the day.
2. Explore Baytowne Wharf
The Village of Baytowne Wharf is one of the most fun places inside Sandestin. There’s always something happening — live music, festivals, fireworks during the summer, and plenty of restaurants and little shops.
Kids especially love the rope course and arcade.
3. Bike the Resort Trails
Sandestin has miles of biking and walking trails that wind through the property. It’s one of the easiest and most scenic ways to explore the area.
We love grabbing coffee and going for a slow bike ride in the morning.
4. Rent a Golf Cart
If you’ve never done this before, it’s one of the most fun ways to get around. Many guests rent a golf cart for their stay and use it to go everywhere — to the beach, restaurants, and Baytowne.
5. Play Golf
Sandestin has four golf courses, including the famous Raven Golf Club.
Even if you’re not a serious golfer, it’s worth playing at least once just for the scenery.
6. Spend an Afternoon at the Marina
The Sandestin Marina is one of the prettiest spots in the resort. You can walk along the docks, watch boats come in, or grab dinner with a sunset view.
7. Paddleboard on the Bay
The bay side of Sandestin is perfect for paddleboarding and kayaking.
It’s calm, scenic, and you’ll often see fish jumping in the water.
8. Go Dolphin Watching
One of the most popular activities in Destin is dolphin cruises. Kids especially love this, and dolphins are spotted almost every trip.
9. Visit Grand Boulevard
Just outside the resort is Grand Boulevard at Sandestin, which has great restaurants, shopping, and a movie theater.
It’s perfect for a relaxed evening out.
10. Try Pickleball or Tennis
Pickleball has become incredibly popular in Sandestin and there are several courts nearby.
11. Book a Fishing Charter
Destin is known as the World’s Luckiest Fishing Village, and charter fishing is a huge part of the local culture.
12. Explore 30A
A short drive away is Scenic Highway 30A, known for its charming beach towns and incredible restaurants.
13. Watch Sunset at the Marina
Sunsets over the bay are absolutely beautiful.
14. Grab Ice Cream in Baytowne
Sometimes the simplest things become the best memories.
15. Do Absolutely Nothing
One of the best things about Sandestin is that it’s the kind of place where slowing down feels natural.
